Wire mesh hot dip galvanized and cold galvanized difference

Galvanized iron wire has good toughness and elasticity, high zinc content can reach 300 grams/square meter. It has the characteristics of thick galvanized layer and strong erosion resistance. Widely used in construction, handicrafts, silk screen preparation, highway guardrail, product packaging and daily civil and other categories. The galvanized iron wire factory is divided into hot galvanized wire and cold galvanized wire (electric galvanized wire).

Galvanized iron wire

Hot dip galvanizing is in the heat of the ablation of zinc solution immersion plating, production speed, thick but uneven coating, market license thickness of 45 microns, up to more than 300 microns. The color is dark, the consumption of zinc metal, and the matrix metal to cause infiltration layer, corrosion resistance is good, hot dip galvanized outdoor environment can maintain decades. Cold galvanizing (electric galvanizing) is in the electroplating tank through the current unidirectional so that zinc is gradually plated on the metal surface, the production speed is slow, the coating is average, the thickness is thin, usually as long as 3-15 microns, the appearance is bright, the erosion resistance is poor, the individual will rust in a few months.

As a metal anticorrosion method, hot-dip galvanizing is usually to put the steel structure that will be derusting into the zinc solution at about 500℃, so that the zinc layer is attached to the surface of the steel structure. Cold galvanizing makes the surface of metal and other materials adhere to a layer of metal film through electrolysis, so that the surface of the material is uniform in texture, anti-corrosion and wear-resistant, and the appearance is more beautiful. Hot dip galvanized coating is thick, generally 30-60 micron, coating corrosion resistance is high. Suitable for outdoor work of steel parts, such as highway fence, power tower, large size fasteners and other relatively “rough” workpiece long-term rust prevention.

Cold galvanized workpiece surface is smooth, but because the coating is relatively thin, generally within 5-30 microns, so the corrosion resistance time will be relatively short. They are used in the indoor use of anti-rust parts, such as chassis bottom, panel, small size fasteners, etc.. Hot dip galvanizing adopts the principle of zinc resistance to atmospheric corrosion to carry out electrochemical protection on steel and other materials. The protective film of zinc carbonate on the surface can slow down the speed of zinc corrosion. Even if it is destroyed, it will form zinc film again.

Cold galvanizing is the use of chemical way, the zinc alloy is separated into zinc ions, has been attached to the surface of steel, this way to form a new layer is generally thin, steel in general, easy to produce rust. The outer surface of cold galvanized steel pipe is smooth and bright. The electroplating layer of color passivation process will be yellow-green, and the electroplating layer of white passivation process will be blue-white. Generally, there is only a small amount of zinc layer at both ends of cold galvanized steel pipe, and then there is no galvanizing layer.

Hot dip galvanized outer surface is rough, dark color, generally silver white, because the production process leads to the surface of some water lines and droplets, the surface does not emit light, nor will it reflect light. Hot dip galvanized steel pipe has a complete galvanized layer inside and outside.
